Brunch at One Red Door -- Hudson, OH

Last Sunday Dave and I went to brunch in Hudson at One Red Door. Aside from their traditional lunch and dinner menu, One Red Door serves brunch every Sunday from 10 am-3 pm. Part of the reason we decided to visit, aside from our love of brunch, was that Dave and I both really enjoy 3 Palms Pizzeria and FlipSide in Hudson. The owner of 3 Palms Pizzeria and FlipSide also owns One Red Door, so we had high expectations for our brunch.

We arrived slightly before they opened for the day, because we wanted to make sure to get a seat on the patio. It was a little warm out last weekend, but the weather was gorgeous.

First order of business was ordering a mimosa, One Red Door also has a Bloody Mary Bar available during brunch if that's your brunch cocktail of preference.

We both decided to order savory dishes for our meal, so we split an order of the Warm Coffee Cake with Pineapple Rum Glaze, in order to get something a little sweet as well. I think we were both glad that we ordered the coffee cake, it was perfect to split, sweet, but not overly sweet. It was a nice way to start of the meal, and our morning.

For my meal I ordered the Eggs Benedict -- there are four different ways to order them at One Red Door, I selected the Avocado and Tomato option. The house made English muffins add a nice touch to the Eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was great, and the tomatoes really helped add something to the dish -- a bite wasn't quite complete without them.

I also appreciated the stunning presentation, every plate we received looked gorgeous and tasted just as good.

Dave ordered the Breakfast Pizza without the bacon. This pizza was topped with fried eggs, potatoes, caramelized onion, cave aged gruyere cheese, and parsley. Dave liked the pizza, but was left kind of wishing that he had ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. He did enjoy the leftovers the next day though.

We liked the outdoor set-up of the patio, we were entirely in the shade the entire time and the patio was relatively quiet. Our service was fantastic and overall we were happy with brunch.

My rating for Brunch at One Red Door:
