West Main St. Winery -- Ravenna, OH

When I first started this blog Dave and I were living in our first apartment in Ravenna, OH studying for the Ohio bar exam. Several moves and new jobs later, Dave is back to work in the city and when a coworker told him about a new winery opening just around the corner from his office and our old apartment were were certainly intrigued. Opening day for West Main St. Winery started at noon this past Friday and Dave, my coworker Sarah, and I headed over around 5:00 p.m. The space was pretty full when we arrived, a big group had pushed together several tables, but we snagged one of the last four person tables available. The tasting room overlooks Main Street, with future plans to renovate the second floor to a meeting/party room. The Wades purchased the building two-and-a-half years ago and have been renovating the space which was built in 1875 ever since. SHY Cellars Two: Pop Up Edible Experience -- North Canton, OH

We made reservations at SHY Cellars Two Thursday night. Shy Cellars Two has been operating every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night from 5pm-10pm starting April 19, through May 19. The Shy Cellars' pop-up is able to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and food allergies if you let them know when you make your reservation. After Thanksgiving, the owners of Twisted Citrus in North Canton opened up a popular one month pop-up at their That Christmas Bar at TD's Tailgate, the innovation continued with the opening of Shy Cellars Two in the Twisted Citrus location. SHY Cellars, located in Strasburg, is operated by Executive Chef and Owner Sherry Schie, who focuses on seasonal ingredients sourced from the local area. First Friday Art Walk -- Kent, OH

Last Friday night was the inaugural First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Kent presented by Main Street Kent, Acorn Alley, SOA Collection and Gallery, and Troppus Projects. The event ran from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and after a stormy afternoon the weather luckily cleared out in time for the start. All participating businesses stay open on art walk nights until at least 8:00 p.m. so that art walkers can "enjoy refreshments, view artist demonstrations, and participate in activities throughout the downtown district..."
