It's finally here! Cleveland's first cat cafe. Affogato opened on January 2nd and we made reservations for January 5th. Since our visit last week they have already made adjustments to the space (profile boards for each of the cats), have already celebrated some adoptions, and added new cats. Affogato is located in Tremont and occupies Lilly's Handmade Chocolate's former building. While walk-ins are welcome if there is availability, but at this time making a reservation online is probably the best way to ensure that you will have a spot.

When we first arrived we selected coffee from their cat themed menu. Dave had a Tuxedo Cat (mocha) and I had a Catpawccino (with flavoring). And we ordered two macarons. You are able to bring coffee into the cat lounge and if your reservation starts before your coffee is ready your order will be delivered to you.

Your reservation will get you one hour in the cat lounge and costs $12 for a weekend reservation. We enjoyed the style of the cat lounge and look forward to going back when there are even more cats.






The decor in the cat lounge was delightful, everything was chic and fit the theme perfectly. There were plenty of places for the cats to enjoy and toys for the visitors to enjoy with the cats.




Pretty Prince is the permanent resident of Affogato and is not available for adoption.




















After our lounge visit we walked over to Fat Cats for brunch, there are plenty of great local places if you're looking for something else to do while you're in the area.

Right after engagement season (the period from Thanksgiving to New Year's) it's bridal show season. During the last nine months of my engagement I have not attended a single bridal show. Velvet Tango Room -- Cleveland, OH

V elvet Tango Room is in a nondescript hole-in-the wall located on the fringes of the Ohio City and Tremont neighborhoods of Cleveland. From the outside the facade of the Velvet Tango Room blends right into the dilapidated buildings that surround the venue. On Friday night, the street was quiet, the glow of downtown was behind us, but Columbus street was dark. Had we not been to the Velvet Tango Room before, the glow of the neon sign would have been the only thing to lead us to our destination. Afternoon Tea at Coquette Patisserie -- Cleveland, OH

Happy Mardi Gras! I wanted to get this post in before the end of February and it's fitting, because Coquette Patisserie has King Cake today.  On February 19th Dave and I attended Afternoon Tea at Coquette Patisserie -- this event required registration in advance and it sold out so if you see an Afternoon Tea pop up on Coquette Patisserie's Facebook page make sure to register yourself! Afternoon Tea is an event hosted semi-frequently at Coquette Patisserie -- a quick glance at their past Facebook events showed a December, January, and February tea.
