Ohio Wanderlust

Last weekend Dave and I went up to Cleveland to see Fun Home. We snagged season tickets to Playhouse Square for the 2016-2017 season and it was the first show that we had tickets to. Whenever we see a show at Playhouse Square we love to park near East 4th, enjoy a restaurant there, and then walk down to the theater. For this visit it was my turn to choose the restaurant and it's been four years since I tried NoodleCat. Ironically, I first went there after an Indians game in 2012 and the Indians were playing in Cleveland last Saturday. NoodleCat is owned by Team Sawyer Restaurant Group, owned by Cleveland Chef Jonathan Sawyer (who we loved watching compete on Chopped), in March we visited the Greenhouse Tavern one of his other restaurants which is located on East 4th Street. You might remember my post about Barre Fly Studio from a few weeks ago, aside from offering an awesome mix of barre and aerial classes, the studio also offers Lyra Hoop Workshops a couple times a month hosted by Barre Fly teacher Laura Grey. I met Laura during my very first class at Barre Fly, she's energetic and welcoming.  All of Barre Fly's lyra hoop workshops are taught by Laura and capped at six people due to the studio only having the space for three hoops. Once the Cleveland Barre Fly location opens the new space will have more room for hoops and the chance to host bigger classes. The lyra hoop (or aerial hoop) is a circular steel apparatus used by performance artists to demonstrate different acrobatic tricks. The hoop is suspended from the ceiling and spins as tricks are performed creating a 360° view for observers. This past Saturday Dave and I participated in the 2nd Annual Coffee Crawl throughout Downtown Canton. Luckily, although we arrived fifteen minutes after the tickets asked us to, we were able to get parking pretty easily and join up with the last tour group of the afternoon at Canton Food Tours. Our group was running slightly early so we stopped at Arrowhead Vintage and Handmade Goods for fifteen minutes to prevent us from running into the tour group in front of us. Our first tasting stop was at Cultured Coffee and Waffles. Dave and I have been wanting to visit this location since we moved to Green, but whenever we think about getting brunch it's on Sunday and Cultured Coffee is closed. We're hoping with Columbus Day coming up that we'll be able to head over for brunch.
