On Wednesday we made another trip up to Willoughby to attend a Wine Dinner at Pranzo Bistro. In April I made a spur of the moment decision to purchase tickets to the Vegetarian Wine Dinner that was hosted at Pranzo Bistro -- I was so excited by the fact that someone was holding a multi-course vegetarian dinner with wine pairings I convinced Dave that we had to drive up to Willoughby on a random Wednesday. We had a little more time to plan for the Vegan Wine Dinner this past week and were excited to have an excuse to have fun mid-week. Last time we sat closer to the window, so you might notice the pictures getting darker as the night progresses in the post. A few weeks ago some friends and I stopped by Savor in Canton for dinner. One had heard that every night of the week at 8:00 the patio hosts a build-your-own s'mores bar, so we made sure to time our reservation so that we could partake in that. It was pretty warm, so when we arrived we were the only people enjoying the patio, but our server Charles had a great personality and was appropriately attentive, so we had a great time while waiting for our third friend. I ordered the Seasonal Lemonade for my first drink -- made with prairie vodka, agave nectar, seasonal fruit and lemon juice. At that time it was being made with fresh raspberries and mint which made it very refreshing.  I ordered a Caprese Salad to help me make it to dinner, I love a good Caprese Salad and this one was beautiful.  As another cocktail I ordered the Savor Mule -- ciroc peach, peach nectar, mint, and fever tree ginger beer. I have a pretty decent obsession with 3 Palms Pizzeria in Hudson, every time we visit the food is spot on, the cocktails are always delicious, and they have a great patio. The owner of 3 Palms Pizzeria also owns two other restaurants in Hudson, coincidentally all three are on the same corner, One Red Door and Flip Side. A friend works for the restaurant group and has been encouraging me to try Flip Side for a while. Now that their Inverted Veggie Burger is back, Dave and I decided to give Flip Side a try for lunch this afternoon. We were pretty hungry when we arrived at Flip Side, so we ordered an appetizer of Triple Cooked Fries topped with cheese. I thought these were amazing, it didn't take us long to eat the whole plate and it got us both really excited for lunch.  I also ordered the Chef's Shake made with peanut butter, pretzels, vanilla and chocolate ice cream. I've wanted to do a write up about the Kent Cheesemonger since they opened in 2015. Dave and I were still living in Ravenna and visited the Kent Cheesemonger frequently before we moved to Green. Every time we stopped by the Cheesemonger, it just didn't seem like a visit worth writing a review about -- we stopped in here and there to buy a light dinner or to create a cheese plate for a party. Now that the Kent Cheesemonger has an outdoor patio, it seemed like the perfect time to stop in for a glass of wine, cheese, and to write up a review. The Kent Cheesemonger is located in Acorn Alley, just follow the sandwich sign up the stairs to a little square -- the same square also contains Popped!  which sells ice cream, popcorn, and other confections. I was vaguely aware of the Twisted Citrus before I received a recommendation from a good friend who lives in the Cleveland area. She was in Canton visiting a friend and only had good things to say about their brunch at the Twisted Citrus. Dave and I love a good brunch, so after a slight sleep-in one Sunday morning we decided to try a brunch restaurant that was close by to our house and I remembered my friend's recommendation of the Twisted Citrus. Although we were told that there was a twenty minute wait for a table, we probably only waited about ten minutes before being seated. The decor is "citrus" themed, everything is bright orange, yellow, and green. Dave decided to stick with regular coffee, but after getting a glimpse of the specials, I was a bit more adventurous.
